Would be a hell of a box:

07/08/94(Stash) - includes first set Gamehendge

10/09/94(Coil) -

10/23/94(Hood)

11/02/94(Tweezer) - arguably my favorite Phish show of all-time.

11/16/94(Chalk Dust) - Simple

11/26/94(Slave) - Bowie

11/28/94(Montana out of Bozeman Tweezer) -

12/02/94(Gumbo) - Another epic Bowie* w/ horns

12/07/94(YEM) -

12/10/94(Simple) - Chalk Dust Torture(reprise)!

12/30/94(Wilson)

12/31/94(Bouncin')

10/23 was a free show, and was a touchstone/hopping on point in the Gainesville area for a lot of people. My ex-wife's first show, for instance, and even though she went on to turn out not so great, the band did pretty good from there  8-)

Dysfunction and itemized lists of people's failures are where it's at.

Just popped this on. Multitrack mix makes a difference. Sounds great.

I really need to listen to more 94 Phish, band is just scorching during this period.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

Same. I love it all but generally lean towards 97-00 if I'm going to pick a random show.... but man, the band was absolutely on FIRE in 94. Such ferociousness in their playing - feels like they are attacking their catalog and making each song their bitch!
Bring in the dude!

94 blends into 95 to my ears.
Everything is connected, because it's all being created by this one consciousness. And we are tiny reflections of the mind that is creating the universe.

I feel like they 'discovered' how deep they could jam in 93.
Spent 94 pretty much perfecting that aggressive style improv.
Then in 95, realized the importance of 'space' in improv and started to implement that.

Trey jumped on the mini-kit and played into the loops hard in 95. Mike has said summer 95 was "starved for melody'.... which... I can see why he said. It was kinda the beginning of Trey laying back and not trying to be the focus of every jam.

Yeah 95 is when they started easing off the gas a bit. The ferocity is still there, but it just isn't quite as intense as it was before, at least for the most part. The jams were getting longer and not just spacier, but a little more patient and less ADHD. I feel like you could point to the Providence Bowie as a dress rehearsal for the 95 sound, especially the summer incarnation.

I'm on board with any and all 1994 releases!!!!
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul
