What are people thinking for camping/lodging? I officially might feel old enough to need an RV for five nights (feel free to pull up 12 year old posts of me saying "you're old/lame if you can't camp") - oh to be young and dumb(er) again...
What's an average price on those bad-boys? I've never gone that route before. I assume you pay a flat rate per-day?
I am so in for this. I just notified my wife, and I think this is enough advance notice for me to pull it off.

We should prob get one soon. Hotels room seem to be booked already around there that aren't apart of the CID stuff. I'd be down to throw in on this. Baltimore is 2 hours. We could look around there bmore or southern MD.
Yeah, seems like either BWI or PHL would be the spots to fly into.

As someone who has travelled to/from Dover countless times, you're spot on. I usually choose Philly just because I can get a nonstop from austin. It sucks to have two flights and then a long drive. Plus the bay bridge can really suck at times. Phl to Dover is pretty easy.
DCA is not a horrible option either.
Bunch of nonstop united/southwest/spirit/frontier flights DEN > BWI.
Since this is inside city limits for Dover, I was curious about late night shenanigans. Two things I learned:
1. The casino (which is adjacent to the site) serves drinks 24/7.
2. Firefly fest went to 2am on fridays and Saturdays.
I don't think any of the Watkins surprise sets went later than 2am. Just sayin.

I went to 2/10/93 at U Del. Not a great show but not terrible. Anyway, locked in two RVs in Jersey. Super pumped for another B-day festival. 1000% in.

Surprised they never played in Wyoming because they definitely spent time in Pinedale at Barlow's ranch.

Word is tickets are going to be around 425-450 for the GA ticket with camping.
Prob another 200 for RV pass.

That seems low for four nights of Phish.
Idk that's price of four day dicks stands pass. I guess compared to msg it's low. I think that's just face so with fees itll land right around 500. And then prob be a VIP/"glen close" type and the super VIP pre built cabana/tent option as well.
Will you be able to do tent camping with your rv? Like if 8 of us were in the rv, could we have two tents setup there as well?

. Good lookin out homie, I appreciate it. We get to Philly at 8AM on the 15th so it would be a miracle of the timing lined up, but it's a long shot. Taking a red eye from PDX. Going to be bushed but got first class for 25K miles roundtrip which is unheard of.
So the fest is called....
MONDEGREEN
guess they gave up on the whole 'ball' schtick.
Packages on sale Thursday
GA and RV passes Friday 11 AM EST
450 for GA
1525 for the full monde site which just seems closer? And nicer facilities?
Glen close is 750 a person
Nice they released the map right away
https://mondegreen.phish.com/ (https://mondegreen.phish.com/)
Well I'm in.
Wait... am I crazy or are these prices insane?
Glen Close RV passes are $650 and then the RV parking pass is $1850? So that's $3,150 for two people?
eta: I guess the cheapest way to do it and camp would be $600?
Inflation is a motherfucker.
From other persons so I didn't do this math:
QuoteGlen Close camping packages for two are up 65% since 2018 and GC single ticket add-ons are up 53%.
Also:
QuoteGA for curveball was $250, and car camping was $60 for Thursday entry.
Wait... I'm wrong apparently... the tickets are included in the RV passes? I think?

Yeah, I find it funny that even a night of couch tour costs more than a ticket to a show used to. The times they are a changin'!
Quote from: WhatstheUse? on January 16, 2024, 02:27:31 PMWait... I'm wrong apparently... the tickets are included in the RV passes? I think?
Yeah only for the glen close RV packages, they includes access to the glen close camping area and all 4 days of the festival so includes festival passes too.
It looks like there is RV GA - dry pass (500$) & RV GA - powered pass (800$) which looks like it does not include the festival pass
my Great Went stub says $70

Camping in Delaware in mid-August does not sound ideal. Guaranteed temps will in the triple digits every day. And yeah, $450 is nuts.
It's also the first 4-day festival, so that accounts for some of the increase.
I'm not surprised by the pricing at all. Is it cheap? Nope. But it's about what I expected
$112/day for a music festival in 2024 is pretty reasonable.
Coachella is three days and $499 for the first tier and goes up from there.

Sure, but regular 2-set phish shows are $100 these days.
i'm just razzing. it's actually not that bad. if you want to rent an RV, then yes, it's gonna get pricey. RV's are super expensive to take anywhere. but dirt-balling it with a car and a tent in general is a great way to see a ton of phish in one shot. but i'm not 20 anymore. honestly, the pre set up RV ticket seems like the way to go!
I'm old and need a hotel. Honestly for lodging with air conditioning, tickets, shuttle service, and free breakfast to stock up food wise all for 940(plus fees) is not awful.
^This is true and at 47 yo, I prefer chillin all day prior to raging an evening with Phish over not sleeping for 3 days.
Yeah there's a lot of hotel options but also need to look closely. Some are in Wilmington, that's 50 miles away. With a little traffic getting in to the site that's an hour drive each way - 8 hours spent in a shuttle for a 4 day festival sounds pretty bad too. Or getting there and realizing you left something at the room 2 hour round trip away.
Bring back Indio!

My educated guess is this:
Wednesday: Soundcheck you can't see but you can likely hear
Thursday: 2 sets
Friday: 3 sets
Saturday: 3 sets plus secret late-night set
Sunday: 2 sets
ETA: Here was the general schedule of Firefly when it was four days:
Thursday, 3pm - 12am ET
Friday, 12pm - 2am ET
Saturday, 12pm - 2am ET
Sunday, 12pm - 12am ET

Now that are sold out, yes. Very. Was surprised how quickly everything went. We were going to drive an RV into the site which would have been by far the most economical way to go (besides GA camping or any camping obv) but we didn't really have anyone to pick up the one we rented in Jersey, so it's Fullmonde RV on site for us. Was a tough decision. Anyway, locked into a couple of the onsite RVs earlier this week through the promoter and yes, I might need to donate a kidney when the bill comes, but I am super stoked. Birthday fest, here I come. No way I am missing it.
ETA: This might torpedo my hopes at the Sphere and The Gorge (for sure the Gorge) but I think it will be worth it.
