anything spectacular from the first set?
please remove all the ">"'s until they start pre-planing setlists
think there was one decent segue tonight. not good enough for that many segue notations
The Stash had some nice spots, I really liked Jim, and the post-ghost jam was pretty rad. Now it's time for bed. :tte:
descent show overall. Would put it in the middle of the 2011 pack somewhere. Ghost and Jim had a lot of momentum, but didn't go far enough imo.

Spectacular? No.
Personally, that was a pretty hard crash back to reality after last night.
lol. Set 2 raged. The paug crew was 10 ft back dead center. Fuck yeah.
Looks fun.
The 1st set sounded pretty on point with short versions of most of the songs. 2nd set looks pretty decent as well.

What an absolutely incredible two days in Tahoe. I couldn't be happier with my decision to hit these shows.
Tahoe was like Telluride colliding with Atlantic City. Qquite the scene.
Jim>ghost was SICK. Especially the end of Jim.
UIC will rage!

There was a quote from twitter in the LST. Something along the lines of "the first 3 songs are dedicated to the dickbags streaming the webcast after begging for it for a year." Not sure where the quote came from.

Trey used Hick's "dickbags"? That's awesome!!! And they played Dog's Stole Things!!
i'm sure that was a paraphrase, if it was even mentioned at all...which I doubt.
However, Guy Forget soundcheck...... kinda ironic placement of the song, isn't it? West Coast... heading up to the 'hiatus'.....

I've wanted to ask this for awhile now, is it because the band has such a huge repertoire now that we harp on that because they were doing the same thing back in the early 90's? Or is it their choice in songs to repeat like Possum and covers like C&P and Boogie On?

I think the band is working off a songlist right now instead of a setlist--they compile a list of songs they might want to play each night, and then they audible (mostly) off that list during the show. So it seems like it would be easy to just take songs off the list that have been played in the last 2-4 shows. Maybe they're doing that and still calling Possum anyway, or maybe Possum always gets added to the list.

Dave A`bear, the new lead guitarist is a really good friend of mine... Has been playing in a local Dead cover band here in the Phoenix area for years and years... He is one of our treasured saviors of bringing quality fun loving music to our ears here in valley, which constantly gets blown off by many performers... So glad for him to get this opportunity to play with Melvin Seals and Jim Tebeau... He also filled in for Stu last year at the Schwag festy...

Let the negotiations begin.
Been listening to this show, just made it to Ghost.
The Jim jam turned really cool before it sort of arbitrarily and quickly fizzled out into Ghost. This sounded like another common example of someone (axeman?) seeming to get overexcited and prematurely jump into the next tune. The Jim jam could've kept going and I'm sure it would have been cool and only gotten more interesting. And/or, the segue that you could kind of hear developing could have been more patiently handled and there would have been big shit-eating grins all around.
It wasn't exactly a ~> brick wall situation but not quite as elegant as I was hoping for.
Sorry if this post reminded you a little too much of this:
