I dug the Hall and Oates cover first, but this is the one that made me a fan...

I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

Not bad, older and skinny as a rail though, if that's your thing.

NINA SIMONE'S 1976 'LIVE AT MONTREUX' FULL CONCERT!

One of the greatest performers of all time, Nina Simone's live recordings are best heard (and watched) in their entirety. When the whole thing goes up on YouTube, you have no excuse not to!

Her body language is unbelievable, as are her interactions with the crowd. The songs meld in and out of spoken word, her soliloquy sometimes outright antagonizing the audience ("I started to write a song about it, but I decided you weren't worthy"). This concert also has her famous commentary on Janis Joplin, ("She got hooked into a feeling. And she played to corpses. Know what I mean?")

Fun.

Banjo player looks lost.

Will seek out more of their stuff. I understand they cover Free as well?

Needs piano.

But fun.
Dysfunction and itemized lists of people's failures are where it's at.

blatboom

they played Free at their late-night DelFest set it was big fun

this is one of my favorites - first time I saw this footage was actually on the big screen at Alamo Drafthouse. I own the DVD now and watch it occasionally.

If you want to delve deeper into Nina videos check her official site... http://www.ninasimone.com/media/video/

Enjoy - you won't be getting much work done once you start poking around that stuff!!
