That weird early 40th anniversary thing last NYE signaled to me that there would be no such celebration right now ... not that they couldn't have just saved it for this upcoming NYE, however. Was Fishman planning on having another child?

Yeah that was my takeaway too. Plus we were already hyped about Sphere and a possible festival.

Yeah I think 3 more northeast shows would dilute the ticket sales from the not even sold out NYE run. 
Also I think they want to have the celebration at MSG so makes sense they did it last year and I think they will reference it this year again. 

30 years ago tonight was the night I became a Phish head. Wasn't my first show, but it was the one that hooked me for life.
