Leaving show now. Highlights for me: Skin it Back, Stash (had some non typical moments), Tweez (had moments of that 2010 spooky/pretty jamming style, with some cool changes. Seemed fairly long) piper (thick, page and mike madness), Weekapaug ( maybe top 5 weekapaug's of 3.0 if that really says alot. Page used crazy effect that he brought out on the SF Light. Very similar to that fall 95 effect that Page used alot.) Thought the second set lost a little focus after Mike's. I didn't drink enough to have 4 Piss Songs. Weekapaug definitely brought the energy back up though. Stairway to Heaven solo in second breakdown of Suzy.   Overall B+ show better than first 2 nights of SF.

Anxious to hear the tweezer.  What I heard of the Stash thru the stream was type I meh.   11 minute first set Gins and 7 minute week4paugs are really old.    I agree Loving Cup should be shelved.     Many recurrances of the stuff that makes 3.0 so 3.0 in this show.

on paper, this one looks like a shit sandwich to me.  And I'm happy about that because it means Oak Mountain or Atlanta won't be getting a greatest hits show.

The stash is where the money is in this one....tweezer is hot and the entire fucking show rocks.....1st set was just spectacular....

having said that heres the rest of the story.

My cars transmission caugh on fire when i was driving home last night from KC to STL....me and my friend pulled over when smoke and flames were coming out of the car at 3 30 in the middle of nowhere in Missouri....im from this state but god damnit is it horrid around here.
So then its me, and my friend john, 5 hits deep respectively waiting in "Kingdom City" missorui for about 3 hours, waiting for my mom to come pick us up.......I just got home and I am fucking exhausted.  Jenny, it was great meeting you I hope your trip home was better than mine.

Oh and yes....it was totally worth it.

I actually think that little segment was awseome and a bit of an inside joke. People hate on these songs but its obvious some of the members really like them.  If you listen to these versions its obvious they were into playing them.  Id rather a 5 min boucin' that they are into rather than a 40 min light that is just jamblanding.

They brought it so hard in the first set it was unreal.  They brought back that passion a little bit in the second set but then transitioned into the light songs....and it worked really really well...the crowed loved it and it worked for the venue and the energy going around....they could have rocked faces all night, but they didn't want to do that....they wanted to wow you with page on if I could, and really blow you away with hood.....they did everything they wanted last night, and it went off without a hitch.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier, did anyone else that was there think the Heavy Things was alot better than normal. I know that is a Poppy song, but immediately when the solo part came, Page got pretty nasty on the baby grand. That to me was the highlight of the Hydrogen replacement tunes. Never thought I would be commenting on an above average Heavy Things, but my friend walked to the bathroom right before and wasn't around me during it and when he got back he had noticed it too.

The last time I remember The Lolrus coming out was Broomfield 3. Pretty sure this is a better show than that. However, I have not heard a lick of last nights show so I will reserve any other comparison or judgments. Glad those in attendance had a great time.

Loving this Tweezer after the first listen.   It is such a relief to hear how far Trey has come in terms of allowing ideas to develop and not completely smother of the jam.  This weekapaug while short has some pretty nice solo work from Trey, Mike and Page.

Anyone else listening to this tweezer?! This is absolutely beautiful to me.  This tweezer I love and it keeps this show from being any sort of a throwaway to me. Had they played a jam like this last summer I probably would have wet myself, actually I may have succeeded in that already.  I am extremely pumped for this weekend!   This is Phish!!!

During the show I remember thinking that the Tweezer would be one of those jams that is better listening to in your car or with headphones than enjoying it live (although I loved it live as well) it is similar to the Dick's Tweezer in the fact that it isn't your normal danceable version. It is a much more beautiful Simple type jam. I also thought that because the Tweezer was that way, the Piper fit very well. It gave everyone the danceable jam that we usually get during Tweezer. Don't sleep on the Weekapaug either, for being only 8 minutes it sure was nasty.

I was just coming here to post about how awesome this tweez is!
Beautiful indeed!  :music:
Notable jam for sure for this summer.

besides the 10 second intro jam to piper, the rest of it is played well too, only to be ripchorded into Mikes...wish they kept that groove going!

listened to this Tweezer on my drive home for lunch.  its a nice version, nothing that blew my mind, typical(for 3.0) ambient wash for outro jam.  after all of the fluffer-nutters I thought I'd give it a listen to see how it really sounds.  again, 3.0 mediocrity.  thinking about emailing Shapiro to see when he'll begin offering whole tours(1.0) ala GD Europe 1972???

I enjoyed the mellow melodic quality of this Tweezer.

Not mind blowing, but certainly above average in terms of patience and listening on the part of Big Red.

Dunno if that makes up for playing Bouncin, BDTNL and Heavy Things in the middle of the second set though.

Phish should stop because Trey can no longer play Phish music.  In short, they no longer jam into the unknown and, Trey no longer has the technique to play Split, Stash and other rippers that require the technique he used to have.

I like Page's contribution to this Heavy Things, he makes an argument here that he should get some solo time on this song.

I'd give the Tweezer a B+ (they find a wonderful theme, but finish up about two octaves and two dynamic levels short). And as susep stated, there is that typical wash at the end which is cool if you are a space cadet, but doesn't do much for those who aren't. That said, I think I like it the best of any of the second leg Tweezer's I've listened to (I haven't heard the Charlotte version yet).
