Sucks.
KEXP dj Kevin Cole was a dj at First Avenue in the way back and was friends with Prince and witness to the rise of his genius. Here's a little something he wrote:

PIE-GUY

I used to have a phish tape with the most blistering Purple Rain at the end as filler. Not Fish singing. Prince. From the early 80's. Fucking scorching guitar solo. Insane. I wish I could find that tape again.

That is all.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

I'd rather dwell in some dark holler where the sun refuses to shine, where the wild birds of heaven can't hear me when I whine.

The greatest of the greats. Here's all the guitar-driven live boots I've got of The Purple One, most of them personally edited down to reflect my favorite selections. For the uninitiated, this required listening. He was a force nearly without equal.

Dysfunction and itemized lists of people's failures are where it's at.
