Title: Packers!
Post by: aphineday on October 23, 2009, 03:27:08 PM
Just thought I'd start a thread, and see if there's any love out there for the Green and Gold? If so, we need a place to gather! GO-PACK-GO!

I love the fact that they're publicly owned.
But other than that, I've got nothing for them.

I have to say I'm working on a short list of teams I could be a fan of once the Rams leave St. Louis. The Pack is on my short list, but I can't yet say I'm really a fan. Though going to Lambeau on New Year's Day a few years back was one of the coolest football experiences ever.

Absolutely! There is a lot of history at Lambeau, and needless to say that it's awesome that they are publicly traded. I actually own a small number of shares, so it makes the experience that much more awesome. You should definitely give the Green and Gold a shot if/when the Rams ditch town. I can tell you I honestly love this team, and I feel like Sundays are actually a little more special being a part of the tradition (but then again don't we all?).

At least you're a Lions fan. I'm definitely in the Lions corner when they aren't playing the Pack... the only other NFC North team I can even stomach.

Time for some 2010 bumping here. Let's see all that hate for my boys again now ;). Good to pick up another win today even though the game was horrible. LOL at Grandpa Favre and the Viqueens. Welcome to the Favre we dealt with for 16 seasons. When he's hot, he'll murder it. When he's not, he'll get murdered.

As a Vikinings fan, I can relate to the truthiness of this statement.

If I had my way, I would have never brought him back.  Even at the beginning of the season I was telling everyone I thought this was "one season too many".  Sadly, I was right.

The Viking's problems aren't all Favre though....

According to the lead story on NFL.com, these problems are compounded by our "all in" on Bret Favre vis-a-vis more pay for him and no contract extensions for key players like Edwards and Rice.

Gonna be a long rebuilding period.  Not unlike the other periods where the Vikes went "all in" on washed up players (see Moon, Walker, Cunningham).

Looks like I''m gonna have to choose between the Bears or the Pack from here on out.

Well it's pretty bleak. If we can't manage to beat the Lions on the road, I'm not too confident in our chances in New England. The Bears currently hold a 1 game lead on us, and the tie breaker. We pretty much need them to lose out to get us in. I guess it could happen, I'm just so incredibly pissed that I'm seeing way too many shades of red. Terry is spot on, that game was complete shit. We needed to show up, and we didn't. Plain and simple.

Troof. I'll officially recant my statement of the season being over. It doesn't change how we played today, and that we still have to play this same team that is pwning the Bears right now in THEIR house. We have to get back to playing winning football if we want a shot at the NFC North. All of that being said, in reference to my original post today:

So awesome story that absolutely makes my day. I posted on Twitter this morning basically advertising flights to Dallas for any Pack fans (who have money and want to fly private) etc...
I got a direct message about 5 minutes later from Jermichael Finley! He has tweeted back and forth with me during the season, but how cool. He sent me his number and asked me to call him tonight about a charter. So, obviously I did. I don't think he's going to go with us (our jet is already booked), but he talked to me for a good 5 minutes about the season, how much he wishes he could play, and how he feels about next year. Before he hung up he said, "make sure you holla next time you're up to the Bay". What a cool fucking guy. Absolutely made my week.

A little 6-0 bump here!
I'm not looking for us to go undefeated, but damn it feels good to be a Pack fan right now.
Aaron Rodgers is just on another level.

I like GB, and don't mind seeing them do well.   :-)

Hate to admit it, but after you meet my team this weekend, it'll probably 7-0.    :|

At least I can be happy for the division.  Between the Pack and Detroit, good things are going on.

Yeah, Vikes need a kick start for sure. Makes me a little nervous, as beating the Pack would definitely be a good way to do that.
