Post by: PIE-GUY on November 20, 2018, 11:44:33 PM
So, no dates have been announced, but George says he's retiring in May, so this tour will happen sometime this spring. Look at the support!!! I will travel to catch one of these shows if I have to. Just sayin'

I've been fortunate to see him 4 times.  Always a great time.  If they do Minneapolis, I'll be dat.

I'll be the one to acknowledge that while Clinton's contributions to the funk are unmatched, his vocals in this century are... terrible.

It's probably been around 10 years since I've seen P-Funk and even back then George Clinton needed some large dudes at his side to help him get around. As much as I appreciate this lineup, not sure I can do it.

Last time I saw him was 2006 and I think he was only on stage for maybe 30 minutes of a 2.5 hour show. Dude must have some crazy good drugz keeping him alive.... somehow. The man is clearly a legend... can't take that way from him!

He's actually sober these days... after 40+ years of EVERYTHING from heroin to crack. Not that he can sing all that well... I mean he's still good from some "wave your hands like this!"

Yep, the last couple times I saw them, he came out all clean-cut - no multi-colored dreads, in a nice 3-piece suit and hat.  He had a chair toward the back of the stage and he went and sat down and grooved during the long jams and the tunes other people were singing.

My real concern is whether or not Michael Hampton is on the tour.  The other guitarists are fine, but I need Maggot Brain
