Just spent the last 30 minutes with this, the final Liz Reed and final JaMaBuBu from the Allman Brothers Band's final show.

Butch had fire to the very end. Rest in Peach.

Thank you so much for the music. RIP.

The Allmans were the first "jam band" I ever heard.

I almost don't want to post this. It hurts too much and the family requested privacy, but it's newsworthy.

It looks like he answered the age-old Shakespearean question with "not to be."

Fuck! That is brutal... and tragic. I can't even imagine what his family is feeling right now.

I understand what you're saying, Dave, but thanks for posting. It's just good to know. My love to Butch, his immediate and extended family and all he touched.

Sad to hear the details behind this, but was shocked to hear this yesterday regardless.  RIP

My initial thought when I heard he passed (given my innate black humor) was that I hoped it wasn't a bike accident.

Derek playing his heart out for his uncle... notice for his entire solo he is facing his drummers. Also notice when he passes the baton finally he just shakes his head like he doesn't even know what else to do. Tears in my eyes at watching this. Honest to goodness tears.
