That was a helluva Set II & Encore!! Radiohead all over the place!
There was a return to NMINML out of SASS there.
Also, HOLY FUCK at that Radiohead cover. That was so fucking cool. I hope to god they keep that around.
I think there should be a -> NMINML -> after Scents.
wait till pitchfork gets a load of fish singing radiohead. :hereitisyousentimentalbastard
I hope August was there to bitch about this whole thing!
Definitely scents > NMINML

I was definitely glad that I watched this set live rather than listening to it later. It was fun to behold, and I wouldn't have appreciated it as much without the the whole "Holy shit is this really happening?" feeling and the seeing what they were doing made it so much better.

Not sure if I believe PG is on the fuckerpants train, but if so I love it!
Great show, a little something for everyone, place was exploding at many many points. The Radiohead theme in the 2nd was perfect. My wife however is a huge RH fan and probably needs to seek counseling with Aug after hearing fish take on those vocals.
I'll take the whole second set as a highlight!

My so is a RH fan too. "Why the fuck didn't they pick Leo to sing this one?"
(Side note: she has trouble enough with :phish: vocals in general, except for Page that is. She actually prefers his version of Loving Cup over the Stones original. Sacrilege!)

This is actually a pretty great Caspian. Therefore, I accept your claim of PG's conversion as truth, and look forward to his essay recanting all past uses of "fuckerpants" to denote it.
Except for the part where Fishman is singing, Everything In Its Right Place is cool, and I like how they bring it back throughout the set.
Another hot second set. This band. Damn.

I'm not sure why you'd hate on the Fish vocals.... it's totally perfect for him to sing this for Phish. It's funny and silly and the chaospad makes it so awesome. I love it. Hope they play it again. Would be cool to hear Leo do it though, if you're looking for "correct" vocals. If you're looking for absurdy, holyshitPhishisplayingRadiohead, then Fish makes sense to me.
Caspian is great. The ambient jams this tour have been a nice augmentation, in frequency and artistry.

I concur. Although I kind of feel like Trey fell back into the forcing of jams/next songs last night, which is something I was afraid would happen. The end is in sight... gotta keep the show moving, rather than thinking "Hey, we've got 9 more shows to play here. We can take our time!"
Fishman was ready for that Caspian to go further, as evidenced by him going to the marimba. But then Trey brought in Fluffhead. Even the Caspian start was a little rushed. Mike played this SUPER fucking cool lick, and Trey ignored it and started Caspian. Wasn't listening!

Same, so stoked to give it a listen and then couldn't even make it through.
I'm sure I would have been pumped had I been in the room but listening at home was painful.
I'm sure Trey or Page would have done that tune far more justice.

I was pumped to be couch touring it. The ambiance in my batcave was perfect for it; low lights, smokey haze and IPA's. I loved it. That said, I haven't given it a second listen yet. I'm sure it won't translate as well in the recording.
My big gripe with the vocals was mostly that the volume was too high, honestly would have been fine if the vocals were just a lot lower in the mix
IMO, it is arguably the best/coolest cover they've ever done, too.. Which is part of the reason I'm bummed about the levels
Still very cool though

Yeah this. I think you guys are all just jaded lol. But seriously, we know Fishman's vocals aren't good. That's the charm. To me it makes perfect sense for them to have him sing Radiohead. Radiohead is so serious. Phish is not. It's the perfect juxtaposition. I listened to it again yesterday and still loved it.

I do that regularly. I have three different playlists that I use at work when I know it's going to be a busy day and I won't want to use up time by deciding what to listen to next. One is a 12 hour long Beatles-esque playlist (every Beatles song and anyone who does a good cover of a beatles song), Classic Rock (10 hours of 60's, 70's and 80's rock) and Radiohead (every radiohead album and b-side in chronological order).

Agreed.
Phish completely 'did their own thing' with Everyhing in its Right Place. I mean... is there even guitar, keys, electric bass, and acoustic drums on that original track? As far as I can remember, it's a concoction of digital computer/synth noises put together (geniusly) by Nigel Godrich and Thom Yorke. The fact that they even attempted to recreate that soundscape is imprsssive.
Yeah, fish iisnt the greatest singer, but I thought it was perfect for him. No one in Phish can 'do' Thom York, so why not have it be Fish.

Sure sounds like a rhodes or a wurli on there, other than that though I think it's all synth, drum machine and voice.
Mike is fantastic in this No Man's.
