now two days of rehearsal
my wife and I enjoyed this show a lot. I think I actually enjoyed set 1 mote, just because I was tired and my back was sore during set 2. but I really liked Light and Ghost > Mango in set 2.
also, I just finished tracking out my recording. probably another 30-40 minutes before it's all FLAC'ed and on bt.etree (yes, my 7 year computer is old and slow).

Set list looks like it was a lot of fun, hope they didn't :samurai: Mango ...
Downloading now, listen tomorrow.
4 sources up already on bt
:-)
I prefer to get stoked over how they play, not what they play, so I skipped forward to set II.
I really liked the Mike's > Simple > Makisupa > Night Nurse > Makisupa sequence.
Ghost is OK, really falls apart at one point and when it comes back together it's very nice...
Love the Mango Song but I had just pulled into my parking spot at work so I didn't hear it.
Hopefully the momentum continues, and AC is more like the tour closers in Atlanta than the tour closers @ Jones Beach.

I agree, I had a lot of fun at Jones beach but I feel the playing and setlist choice seemed like it was for a beginning summer 2 night stand not the tour closer.
Cant believe this is the one show I miss this week and they dropped the llama, alunmni, sloth, mule, and after midnight!!!! ::emay moves up to the northeast::
Hopefully they repeat some bustouts for AC cause prov > umass didnt do it for me. Tour closer and halloween and 10/31 has a 2:15 curfew so gonna be a good time no matta what!!
Phish fans take over city streets (http://www.theunionleader.com/article.aspx?articleId=0a641b0e-95db-45b4-b71d-0b3111aec264&headline=Phish+fans+take+over+city+streets) - New Hampshire Union Leader
QuoteMANCHESTER – With their tie-dyed clothes and granny dresses, care-free attitudes and sloppy habits, thousands of Phish fans descended on the Queen City last night to hear the Vermont-based rock band play a sold-out concert.
Fans paid $60 per ticket, and police said 11,000 were inside the arena.
Even after the band had been playing for an hour, dozens of Phish followers were hanging around in parking lots or in the Verizon Wireless Arena plaza.
Twelve Tribes, a Vermont-based spiritual community, played folk songs outside the arena, as about a dozen stretched out on nearby grass.
"We're fans of the Phish fans," 65-year-old percussionist "Lemuel" said. "They're a lot of people looking for some kind of meaning in life. They come by and they whoop it up for a while."
A lot of whooping took place in nearby parking lots. Across Lake Avenue, a lot was littered with beer cans, wine bottles, cardboard 12-pack holders and red plastic cups. Breezes carried whiffs of spilled beer.
In the old Sound System parking lot on Elm Street, a bazaar was going on. Glass pipes, Grateful Dead T-shirts, Sloppy Joes, grilled pita-bread sandwiches, cold beer -- all were on sale.
"It's great, we all see each other," said Brie, a traveling vendor who was selling T-shirts and sweatshirts with custom-made Grateful Dead insignia.
Next door, Murphy's Taproom started filling up at 3 p.m., hours before the club usually draws music fans on concert nights, said club owner Keith Murphy.
"When the economy isn't as good as it should be, a day like this is an extra Friday," he said.
Police reported four arrests for possession of nitrous oxide, a gas with mind-altering effects. Possession of the gas is a violation-level offense, similar to a traffic ticket.
Police also confiscated three tanks of the gas.
Sgt. Todd Boucher said nitrous oxide is commonly sold at Phish concerts, sells for $10 a balloon, and the dealers can make $30,000 during a concert.
"They've been peaceful," Boucher said of the crowd. "But there has been a lot of public drinking, drug usage and littering."
Check the link for pictures. Probably best to avoid the comments section, I'm guessing.

I've made it through this section of show so far, with the Llama being the stand out. Really well played for how rare it is.
from the comments of the above article:
Give a man a phish and he eats for a day. Have a phish concert and you clean your streets for a week
I don't actually hate Access Me, it can be fun for sure. That being said, it was exceptionally dicey at best.

lol. nice water bottle, guy!
I am still somewhat brain dead and spent. I just made it home. I had so much fun last night. I was pretty much 20 or so feet in front of Fishman for most of the 1st set. I hung out with bvaz in the tapers section for the beginning of the 2nd set and then moved up front again for the rest of the show. Mehead and Aaron, who I drove down with, had seats in the back of the venue in the 100's and my friends from Mass had seats up close. So I pretty much just spent the night rambling around by myself. It was the 1st time I've done that at a show in a long time. I had a lot of fun!!! I saw a few non pauger friends on the floor and partook in some phenomenal :smoke: throughout the evening.
The 1st set was great last night. The opening 3 songs were a perfect start to any show. Llama was fun and WOTC was great. The Curtain With and ASIHTOS where well played and fun. So was It's Ice (My first one btw!) I'm not sure what the consensus will be on it, but this was the best 1st set I've seen in 3.0.
I got some repeats from Augusta in the 2nd set (which is expected) in Possum, Light, Mike's and Weekapaug. To me the Light was better than Augusta's and so was the Mike's. I was hoping that we would get a Simple ala the Greek but this was a very standard version. The Makisupa-> Night Nurse-> Makisupa was out of the middle of nowhere which I am a fan of. I like the Wedge but not great placement here. Better as an early 1st set song for me. I was happy to get a Ghost. This version won't go down as one of the better ones but I had fun nonetheless. Mango came out of left field and was enjoyable. I can't wait to give the Weekapaug-> Llamaprise a listen here soon. That was incredible at the show, but I'm not sure how it will translate on recordings. There was sooooo much energy on the floor for that. It was really amazing. I like Show of Life but not as an encore. I was hoping they would go back in Llama. That would have been incredible!
It was great hanging with bvaz in the show for awhile and saying hi to Jason. I wish more paugers had made it to the meet up at Murphy's. That place was cool and how can you beat $2 pints of quality brews!
Mehead, Aaron and I had a great time pre and post show hanging and :smoke: and whatnot. We stayed at the Raddison which was about 50 yards from the venue. Aaron and I went to go get coffee this morning and wow there was a lot of trash still needing to be picked up around the venue. I can understand why locals are voicing concerns about it but the city really should have had more trash cans available too.

Wow. People, I had a PHENOMENAL night last night. WTU and Gumbo joined my crew last night for what amounts to my favorite night in years. Sometimes the stars just align and everything is perfect. Tonight was perfect.
Spent the after show with Redrum, Sneaking Sally, and a bunch of other crazy fuckers on the 7th floor of the Radisson.
Thanks for giving us a place to hang, we had a ball. We cannot wait for AC.
P.S Everyone stay away from my sister. Trust me. It's for your own good. :-D

Cannot wait for AC. Like matt said, let's hope these tour closing shows are more like the ATL shows and less like the JB ones!
The Ghost sounds quite good. Nice -> into Mango Song -- not 100% perfect but about as good as you can ask for these days. And Trey handled the guitar melody much better than in Charleston.
Edit -- I'm live blogging as I listen to this, so...
I really like Trey playing with the Weekapaug chords at the end of Mango. You know Phish of 15 years ago would have effortlessly and seamlessly slipped into the song from here and it would have been awesome. But last night it kind of sounds like they couldn't quite figure out how to fit the two together, so Mango mostly ended in its usual fashion. But kudos for continuing the theme starting up Weekapaug -- I like the creativity here and the execution was pretty good.

trying to finish up at work, totally beat.
sorry we didn't meet up with you guys at Murphy's - time planning fail.
the energy was absolutely amazing for the show.
When they came out, Trey smiled and played the 1st chord to After Midnight, I couldn't believe it.
loved the whole 1st set, Curtain With was beautiful. almost every song my wife and I looked at each other and said, holy shit - they're playing THIS!!
2nd set was hot as well. Highlights for me were Light and Ghost. Were they the best of tour? - dont' know, don't care, I liked them.
Mike's raged. Simple was nice - thought Trey cut it off a bit too soon - most of the people around me were very psyched when they started MP - I could have heard them jam more, but that's OK.
Can't you hear me knockin jam was very cool - by the time Llamaprise came about, I could barely hear, it was so loud in the place.
couple other things - someone mentioned this earlier on tour, but it looked like they weren't keeping to a defined set list, the way Trey was going over stuff with Mike and Page in between songs and during jams.
LOL of the night was during set break - some dude broke through the wristband guy onto the floor (in the back behind OTS). He looked to be over 6 feet, 200 lbs. Security came and literally lifted him up and back to the arena. (no - it wasn't :wtu: - much too big)
:phish:
@slslbs - I think I saw the incident you're talking about. I was hanging out with bvaz in the tapers section at the time.
I really like that setlist, particularly set 2, may even listen!

I was looking down there to see if there was somene I recognized, which was kinda foolish cause I never met any of you in person.
which side of OTS were you on?
Looked like a stand got hit by a glow stick during Mikes.

I was standing on the Fishman side of the section, but had moved up to the front of the floor by the time Mike's had started.

I was 2nd from the right. zman was next to me.
I was on balloon patrol last night. at least the security didn't throw the balloons back out that I was throwing in the sbd area like they did in umass.
glowsticks are just a hassle altogether.

well, AC and providence are a little different.
I'll definitely send a message when down in AC. I got caught up going into shows early and not leaving the taping section. I may just want to have fun and not have anything to worry about.
Thinking Saturday can be found for a bean.
Most people are holding on to them for a last attempt at a trade for the 31st.
You'll definitely get in.

sorry we missed you birdman - you were outside and we were inside...oh well :beers: the $2 guinesses were flowing :beerbang:
had a f'n blast! went down w/ undermind and my bud Aaron..was 77 degrees when we rolled into town, can't beat that for a late October day in new england...
i called the makisupa at about 7:30 when the :police: were across the street from the venue busting up the hippie crack scene - I counted 7 cop cars and a big ass fire truck :? hilarious!!
the place went ape-shit w/ after midnight and we all pretty much knew we were in for a ride...got my sloth that i was hoping for...lucky to catch both alumnis this year...mellow mood fit perfectly...botched intro to access me but oh well, sure beats getting another ocelot which I was sure was coming (glad I was wrong)...
then came llama  was really glad to see Trey give it straight up to Page who promptly killed it (along w/ cactus)...my buddy aaron called a llama but I really was in no mood to see Big Red struggle thru this...The "With" was f'n sweet...mule IMO is all about placement and I thought it really worked here - whole place boogied down...then to get ASIHTOS , Ice and then WOTC...I went bonkers as WOTC started and virtually everyone around me had no clue what they were playing...it was very clear that whatever the set list was supposed to be - they thru it out the window - Trey doing a lot of conversing w/ Page and esp. Mike - totally feeding off the energy and vibe that they were creating..1st set meltage
as usual I got possum'd AGAIN (6/7 in 3.0)...Light got really psychedelic (CK5 was  w/ this) - really liked the groove that they found towards the end of it and carried over to Mike's...simple felt really flat to me - meh...then came the makisupa > nice nurse > makisupa...holy straight buttah  i am a fan of Wedge but not on this night...wasn't played well and placement was horrible - never got into it...was totally jazzed as they eased into Ghost (my first of 3.0)..not the best - loved how they started it off but felt they never locked into where they wanted to go with this but eventually recovered a bit at the end..mango was a total surprise - again placement was a little off and while far from perfect, it was better than the last couple of attempts...loved the weekapaug and everywhere that went - danced my f'n ass off and then lost my shittles w/ llama reprise
encore confirmed 100% that show of life doesn't work in this slot (and yes, I do like this song) esp. as a one song encore...however, I didn't give 2 shits because of the    that had already transpired
all in all - beautiful fall weather, good friends, $2 pints, killer :smoke: , and the complete :samurai: at the hands of :phish:
PRIME springboard for the AC run :rawk:
This Ghost has some velocity.

I'm usually a fan of sbds, but the energy in the room, especially during weekapaug>cyhmk>llamaprise is captured much better on the aud (sweet sound, too)

My favorite of the tour that I saw (I did not see Utica or AC). I would say it had to be one of my all time favs it was just on fire on point and the song selection...DAMN!!!! Especially what a way to start the first 5 tunes wtf!!!! After midnight, the sloth, alumni>letter>alumni, mellow mood? CAMON!!!! SICKNESS!!!! It's ice never hurts me either! A lil scent which can be a rarity these days all in the first set? That calls for a sick night for me. Then the mikes madness with the Gregory Isaac shout was insane with the mango>paug>ghost>night nurse>paug>Llama....WHAAAAT!!!!????
I enjoy this Light very much.
