I'm sorta new, so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt, and maybe a shot of tequila...

I ended up here the way that many others probably have, with a reseed request that Mattstick filled...thanks again.  But since my request, I have posted a bit, mostly in tech and support questions (my computer skills are extremely basic, I can download music, and until recently could burn CD's...) but mostly I have lurked (what a creepy word.)  I have found myself astonished at not only the musical knowledge by the folks on this board, but by the love of Phish, and the friendships that have obviously formed over the years.  I have learned a lot about a band that I assumed I couldn't learn more about.  My ears have been opened to shows I would have never sought out.  And all without the risk of being made to feel stupid (oh my god!  you didn't know that....??!!)or not the #1 fan(....you obviously aren't as big of a fan as me!)  I can ask my questions, submit my opinions, from the sacred space of my home.  So, thank you.

Phish has not only brought some of the best memories that I have...but also has formed for me lasting friendships in being that one thing we have in common, even if we never saw a show together...example, my fiance, after a few drinks on our first date, I asked the pivotal question..."phish or panic?"  I knew it was gonna last when he said, "phish, of course!"  My last show was 8/9/04 in Hampton, I had been pregnant in Summer '03 (charlotte, atl, raleigh) when I had last seen them, and knowing that this would be my last time--coventry was out of the question for me--I filled my head with molly (you know, my cousin ) miracled the guy who took me to my first show, and went for my last hoorah.  (slowest 2nd set ever, proof of a love affair between phish and the mothership)  Before the encore, this dready kid was walking up and down the stairs (Mike's side, half way up) saying "show 'em love kids, this may be your last chance..."  How true, I thought.  I listened to the crowd, we were all so calm, the energy was flowing, but it was so chill.
Had it not been for the drugs, I probably would have been bawling  (like I was when I streamed the last set of Coventry while holding my baby).  To an extent, that dready kid was wrong...this board proves it.  I know there are other forums, and other boards, and I have posted to them, but this one seems to treat people with the most respect, and for that I'll thank you again.

Sorry if this seems cheezy...CHEERS.

that was far from cheesy.  Thanks for sharing!
Can we talk about the Dead?  I'd love to talk about the fucking Grateful Dead, for once, can we please discuss the Grateful FUCKING Dead!?!?!?!

Honestly though, this whole post whoring thing is getting to be a little ridiculous.  But does having a higher post count make a cooler pauger?

I have only been here a little while, but I agree with the posts about lurking for a bit before you decide to participate. Everything has its own flow, its always a good thing to have some idea of the flow before you jump in. Personally, I have been treated wonderfully over here by people who have been on this board for a while and those who are new, for that I am extremely greatful. When I had dial up I was constantly trying to find people to trade Phish with, but became frustrated when people wouldn't hold up their end of the bargain. I used to check out PT a lot, mainly for rumors, but was so frustrated there also that when I found week4paug I was excited that intelligent music and non-music discussions could go on the net. I hope to be around here enjoying myself with everyone for a while. Thanks to everyone who answered all my questions!!!
