lost the stream for the Maze-Mike's section of the show, but the rest sounded pretty damn good.

OTS DFC Sennheiser ME66 (PAS) > Lunatech V3 > optical line input > MBP > Ustream @ 44.1

ftw  :music: :smoke:

was tonight the first documented paug inflight streamage?

Just skip to the last few minutes of Number Line and play it to the end.
The rest was straight 3.0

I loved the first set...loved it. Trey on the mini guitar during Wilson was hysterical! 2nd set was cool although I kind of lost interest after Simple. Not exactly sure what happened during Halley's. They pretty much stopped jamming out of no where and started up Mike's. Not a bad show, not an amazing one either.

Tomorrow night should be crazy as tonight didnt get any big time set closer.

Nice meeting redrum, mbird, phuzzy, and shoreline beforehand too. Hope you guys had fun!

See you tomorrow night for round 2!!!  :phish:

It's not Z-Man. Z-Man tapes with Schoeps and I posted the source last night. They are using Senns. Here is the source:

my review:

haven't really listened back much yet but here's my first impression.
met up with some paugers pre show & spent the 1st set with wtu.
i was stoked to meet the new 'doc.

set1.

Fluffhead - first show opening version since hampton, right? let's party! the vibe is on.

KDF - i'm glad this was 2nd, not the opener.

Cities - the dance party was just getting started, and then it ends. wtu was pissed, i wasnt psyched about it either, but the boys had more material to get to, which i anxiously awaited to find out that it was >

Funky Bitch - always welcome when i'm around.

Wilson - i appreciate this song so much more the further it's buried into the set. toy guitar was really fun, kinda freaked everybody out in a good way. i wonder if the guitar had to do with it's placement.

Reba - love it. pretty sure the composed section was tight & the jam is getting better. altho i do remember telling trey to "get it together" when he played a bad note, which made scott laugh. we then had a quick discussion about why it's up to fishman to let trey go or end it.

Walk Away - wasn't really in the mood for this tune, but the new arrangement of the jam makes it kinda interesting.

Wolfman's - nothing crazy.

Possum - that one long note trey sustained forever was so insane!! i saw some crazy energy from the crowd right in front of him
feed into it. kickass.

setbreak..

at set break, went for a much needed stroll.
it was too crowded to even get back to the same spot.
ended up on the aisle one section over, more room.

Lengthwise - fish clears his throat to start the set, you know it's gonna be good. enjoyed the hihat intro to >

Maze - bring it.

Halley's - haley was psyched. this is the one song (& tube) they REALLY NEED to stretch out.

Mike's - jam was hott.

Simple - i thought hydrogen was comin, but they wanted to keep the energy up. fine with me. jam was really dope.

#Line - as trey started the intro, i thought it was scent, glad it was this. they really start getting loose, playing with some cool ideas & really listen to each other. norweigian wood teases-ish?

Caspian - i noticed right as the "jam" started, they did something different. i liked it. they broke it down, fish does this thing on his snare that turned it all upside down.

Rock & Roll - page really looked like he was in the zone when singing this particular version. it made me laff.
but maze jam reprise or what? which lead into the super fast "it was alright!!" outro. it was firey.

Weekapaug - do i recall page throwing down more than usual? the screens were constantly showing this great angle of him, could be why i'm thinking that. everyone was raging about this version after the show, i wasnt really sold. gona need to hear it again.

Loving Cup - it's always a beautiful buzz, but closed my last show at great woods. but it works i guess.

e)

Show of Life - perfect choice. i really dig this tune. and at that point i was hoping for a mellow tune (sleeping monkey, bug, etc)

Golgi - rather have that than nothing, but it also reminded me of the end of the mansfield show.

overall i thought it was a solid show
& i liked certain things about this night better than the following show..

yes, but that's not why i saw it.
mb actually pointed it out to me.
it was a couple sections over and it looked like someone lit a bunch of trash on fire and it was inside a garbage bag.
people were all batting it around like a beach ball until some finally grabbed it and jumped on it.
i was all like  :?

This was the heat. Best set of either night, quick call, but I need to listen to JB2 again. Haven't heard it since the show.

It really caught my attention during the delicate, lyrical part of the Simple jam and then BANG right into number line. Even Prince Fuckerpants couldn't kill it.

I'd actually agree.  Hood is worth a listen, but not much else. (maybe the light?)

I was quite underwhelmed with the 18th to say the least.  You could smell that Suzy>Tweeprise closer from a million miles away....

there just wasn't enough oomph on the 18th.
1st night crackled with energy (imo).
2nd night, just seemed like they were trying to jam pack to many hits or tunes in general to focus on a solid vibe.

oh, yeah... I was definitely being serious.  Even with everything that went down, in the end, I'm so glad I made it.  Just didn't feel right to end in Alpine, had to finish it.

I know what you're talking about too -- think it was sometime during the first or second song, 1st night.... I just realized at that moment, the music had barely even started...... yet just making it out there to see you/mbird/matt/anna + many more friends had ALREADY made the trip worth it.  Why WOULDN'T I have come?

Trey is absolutely determined to fit Caspian in this late-second set spot, isn't he?

Although I'm not a fan of its placement, this Caspian is MUCH better than most others played first leg this summer....

I will refer you to the SPAC 1 Caspian, it blows the pants off this one.  And for the record I don't hate Caspian, I just like PG's nickname for it and they could use it a little more sparingly.

And compared to other 3.0 Weekapaugs, this one has got the juice IMO.

I especially like Trey's work in this one, he has definitely stepped up his game in August.

Pretty solid show I must say.  Would not have been disappointed to be at this one.  I dig the unfinished Caspians....  its nice when they trail off into something else.

STRAIGHT UP ON FIRE NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS.  Straight up straight up nastiness.  What a killer show of energy and tightness!!!! Just simply on!!!! Not an off moment to be heard.  One of my favorite paugs of all time as a whole.  The jam was just straight fire!!!!  No crazy effects on the guit either really just barely anything used to make changes except for the clav which is normal for a weekapaug, mike's meatball filter, but they could've been playing on toddler amplifiers and fender squier guitars and toy pianos and drums and nothing would've changed!! They were just out for blood (obviously the guy jumped the balcony the next night!).

True story.
He wasn't going anywhere fast by leaving early. He was driving in my car and I wasn't going anywhere fast.
