I'm embarrassingly still behind on a few write-ups, but I want to keep this ball rolling.

[1] No "Myfe" ending.
[2] No whistling.
[3] Acoustic.
[4] Unsually long delay at end, with some band members "snoring."
[5] Unfinished.
[6] Without microphones.

My Friend My Friend did not contain the "Myfe" ending and Reba did not have the whistling ending. The Mockingbird narration included The Vibration of Life. I'm Blue I'm Lonesome and My Long Journey Home were performed acoustic. There was an unusually long delay at the end of My Sweet One, with some of the band members "snoring." Antelope was unfinished. Amazing Grace was performed without microphones. This show is available as an archival release on LivePhish.com.
I'd rather dwell in some dark holler where the sun refuses to shine, where the wild birds of heaven can't hear me when I whine.

I use records for that and don't have to justify it to my friends.

Frankenstein: Not as common in the opening slot
Poor Heart: Standard
My Friend: Nice and dark breakdown, breathing some darkness into the show early on.
Reba: Excellent version. Quintessential Fall 94 version. Band is sounding very tight in the mellow section before the peak. Some tension building to an explosive peak.
Forbin: Much less rare in the 90’s but always a treat!
Narration (vibration of life): honestly couldn’t hear the talking much since I was at work.
Mockingbird: Very well played version. Mike playing beautifully.
DWD: They push this version more than most from the era. Some fun interplay between the members, Trey moves into machine gun mode and then they prod a Type II jam before aborting and finishing up the song. You can see how the early versions influenced 95 and on.
Bouncing: Standard breather, good song flow
Acoustic songs: Fun, nice way to end the set. I wish they’d still do this from time to time.

Halley’s Comet: Not all versions can be like Hampton 97, but I’ll take it. Some rawk to get the energy up…
Antelope: Its time for the heat. Band is firing on all cylinders. Super in sync. Fishman really speaking up as they head into Type II territory.
My Sweet One: Effortless segue into this tune. Back into the antelope jam. Almost sounds like a big ball jam at times. Really pushing into unknown territory. Coming back to earth only to melt into….
Fixin’ to Die: Ripping solo from Trey, keeping the energy going. Kind of fades  out, keeping the segue party going into…
Ya Mar: Always loved this song for some reason, it’s just so happy. Nice little improv section then some quiet.
Mike’s: Short and concise. Fishman has a big section in this version’
Catapult: Always fun
McGrupp: Well played version. Good non-standard Mike’s Groove breather
Cavern: Keep that hype in place of a paug. Standard playing.
Silent>Horse: Love the acoustic intro, same as the bluegrass songs, I wish they did this more now.
Amazing Grace: Sure, do whatever you want after that set II

I found that Fishman was the driving force beheind set II. But I seem to remember a show where they are giving Fishman shit for "talking too much" I think it may have been officially released, but I have no clue what year or anything. Anyone have an idea which show I'm talking about?

I think Trey said that several times during Secret Language Instructions in Spring of '92.

There's a Europe Summer 97 show where Fishman does a "high hat solo" and Trey tells the crowd to start whistling if fish goes on for too long... can't recall the date though, maybe 7/10?
Bring in the dude!

That might actually be the one I am thinking of.

The first time I heard this show, it instantly became one of my all time favorites and still is.

A Frankenstein opener is extremely rare and seems to signal that the band is feeling it.  The Poor Heart is smoking, so there's just no messing around from the first note of this show.  It's a great setlist for the 3,000 or so in attendance.  I imagine this to be a very sleepy show in the sleepy Pacific NW, and Phish just owned every person there.  It's a perfect setting for a Vibration of Life!  It's also nice to see DwD starting to grow some legs.

I find it odd that some of the best second sets start off with a short set opener.  It's like they just need to get it out of their system and then all bets are off from the opening notes of the second song.  August '93 did this a lot.  Anyway, this Antelope starts out very bouncy and playful and then just hits fast rage mode.  Deadly Phish.  MSO goes back to the playfulness, but then oh my.  My bootleg back in the day as well as the LivePhish release lists all this as My Sweet One.  However, when I looked it up on Phish.net, it's labeled as Antelope>MSO>Antelope.  I prefer the Phish.net labeling as this isn't MSO territory at all!  Is a jam a type 2 jam if there's snoring!?  The last 5 minutes of this MSO jam, or whatever you want to call it, into Fixin' to Die is one of the greatest Phish jams ever.  It kills me every time!  How do they even end up in Fixin' to Die of all songs!

The Ya Mar is great, complete with a "silent" jam in the middle.  It's crazy to have a show this good with a short 6 minute Mike's Song.  You would think this Mike's would blow the roof off the place, but Catapult chopped it off, and they never made their way back.  McGrupp is a great late 2nd set tune, and the show winds down after that.

This show smokes, plan and simple.  Then next night is one of my favorites, too.  And with 2 horn shows after that, I may go as far as to say this is night 1 of one of the greatest 4 night runs in 4 different venues in Phish history.

Frankenstein - Not the most well-played version but I love it as an opener.  Hell, I'm fired up anyway.
Poor Heart - Love the placement
Myfe - My cup of tea.  The ending is drawn out a bit.  Not particularly noteworthy but certainly different.
Reba - Composed section is close to perfect.  With a nice, solid jam to go along with it.
Forbin's / Vibration of Life / Mockingbird - That quirky shit that people hate Phish for and we love them for it.  It's crazy how well they could rip through Mockingbird back in the day.  Madness I tell ya.
DwD - I like how they move off key ~7:10.  Makes one think it might be heading into type II territory, but it doesn't last more than a few measures.  Otherwise pretty standard 94 version which isn't too exploratory.  Not that that's a bad thing.
Bouncing - Mad dash to the bathroom.
Blue and Lonesome - Love it.  Sounds especially good on the LP SBD with headphones as opposed to so many acoustic, no mics from this tour.  Great harmonies.
Long Journey Home - Fishman can't sing for shit, but neither can I. And it's still fun.

Halley's - Always love to catch this one.  You know that segue's coming....Hitchcockian suspense...Trey rips it up in the end jam
Antelope - Again, as soon as the jam begins, Trey is all over it.  This one really rages.  Page is killing it.  Just that classic '94 sound....love the segue into My Sweet One
My Sweet One - Complete with (Fishman?) snoring.  I like how someone yells from the crowd "Wake up!" causing Fishman to laugh.  The jam that follows completely rules.  Just frenetic awesomeness with Trey swinging the megaphone in circles.  Then another great segue into Fixin' To Die.
Fixin' To Die - In a tour chock full of highlights, this one is near the top of the list.  Completely different from the other version played two weeks earlier.  Just jaw-drop awesome.  Eventually morphs into:
YaMar - Reeling people back to reality.
Mike's - Was not at all expecting them to drop right into this.  Fishman has a borderline drum solo in this one and then Catapult rears its head and then right into:
McGrupp - Pretty standard awesome.
Cavern - To close it out
Horse/Silent/Amazing Grace - Not my ideal encore, but after that set, no one's going home complaining.

Such a great show.  Always fun to revisit.  The whole Antelope > My Sweet One > Fixin to Die section will get you every time.  Thanks for the pick!
