Was thinking about Budd too.  U got power, budd?

Hey folks. My fam did pretty well. We were one of 2 streets in our neighbourhood that didn't lose power so we hosted some families for dinner last night. All of the coastal areas are pretty much under water. It will be quite the clean up. My biggest loss was one of my plants was blown over.
Only one death that I'm aware of where a woman's house in Newfoundland was swept into the ocean.

Glad to hear you guys are well and taking care of one another. Godspeed on the cleanup & return to normal.
Horrible news about the fatality. What a frightening way to go.

Thanks for checking in folks, love this place.

Here's a vid of the storm surge in Nfld...

Glad you're safe, Budd. Crazy shit.

Ian approaching CAT 5 status. Winds currently at 155 MPH, CAT 5 is 157. Please keep the people in the Tampa/Sarasota area in your thoughts. We'll be fine here in Orlando. I'm expecting minimal damage, probably power outages from the CAT 1/Tropical storm when it gets here. Honestly more worried about my dumbass neighbors not strapping their shit down or putting it in the garage than I am of the actual storm itself.

Yeah, we have close friends with property on the coast in Naples.
Doesn't look good.

Damn yeah I heard they even closed 21 waffle houses, which if you ever lived in the south, means this storm a big deal.

Stay safe lope!

My mom and stepdad live in Naples.  They got lucky.  Really lucky.  So far, just loss of power.

The scenes from Fort Myers, just 20-30 miles north of them, are horrifying.

I hope your experience is similar to my parents, 'lope.

Nothing like the impact of a hurricane type disaster, but damn is it spooky--we haven't had a real frost yet this fall, and no rain either. Like 6 straight weeks of dry warm sunny weather. In late fall in Vermont, what the actual living fuck. I'm honestly kinda weirded out.

I was just talking about this with friends. It feels so weird to have back to back to back 20+ (70+ F) degree days in November. And the forecast doesn't look like it will let up for the next week +.
Legit has never happened in our lifetime here in Atlantic Canada. It does not bode well for an early start to the ski season.

Sames here in the Midwest.  The weather has been absolutely perfect for about 7 weeks now.  This global warming thing is right up my alley...j/k
