Mostly new songs (by that I mean new to Phish, so a bunch of their solo stuff) but I hope some stuff they can come up with together. I hope for Suskind Hotel too. But as for "old" songs... Limited as to not become their former selves. I'm really thinking this is going to be like turning over a new leaf and this is my wish list, to be surprised... But I could really go for a Spock's Brain or BEK - Old school style
I honestly don't care what they play, as long as they bring the heat!
My only hope is that people stop making "fake Hampton setlists/what will they open with/what songs will they play" threads by then.

A nice Hood and maybe end the third night with Coil. For some reason Coil with the outtake after a run just feels like a nice smooth ending to me, ala 10/31/94

gotta play Friday to end the run. I mean that song is
perfect for the occasion..
Didn't they end the Hampton '03 run with Friday?
I got it, if you didn't get it, maybe you will someday.
My wish list includes one thing, and one thing only. A ticket. If I'm in there, I don't give 2 shits what they play. It'll be so much fun it doesn't really matter to me.

i'll play
I: The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday > Run Like An Antelope > Sanity > Run Like An Antelope > The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday, Axilla > Carini > Sand, Dirt, Wilson, Timber Ho
II: The Curtain With > The Great Curve, NO2 > Quadrophonic Toppling > Kung, McGrupp and the Watchful Hosemasters, Lifeboy, Ghost > Leprechaun > Ghost
E: Mike's Song > Slipknot > Split Open and Melt
cool. i enjoy seeing what people would request if they could call the whole show.
it's interesting to see the variety and difference of what others are into.

Well, Phish would suck if every song was Llama. Think of the GD playing Baby Blue or Brokedown. Friday is a heartfelt, chilled out song that provided a nice bookend for those of us that went to all 4 of those first shows back.

heh. I got no problem with a ballads and it's obvious Trey loves em. I just happen to really dislike Friday. I'm sure we can find one you don't like.
actually I do have a problem with 1 song ballad encores most of the time and I happen to feel like they shoulda capitalized on the energy that was in that room (I was at all 3 Hampton shows). no biggie, it's not like it ruined my memory of it or anything.
I stopped questioning what they chose to play a long time ago.
Some of my favorite post-hiatus moments were ballads at odd times: Bug on 12/02/03 and All Of These Dreams on 8/09/04.

gottcha! and after looking back on the 08-11-97 setlist they played Piper, Vultures, My Soul, YEM to end the second set, Just like in the first posts wishlist.

Yes, that Piper and YEM are mind bl0wing - intense and psychedelic... and like I said, I'm not one to complain (anymore) but that's painful.
Both tunes were relatively new so they could be excused in that instance.
Back to the Hampton All Of These Dreams... it's all about expectations - people thought they were going to tear down the Mothership, that tune up took forever and the ultimate selection was a statement about what they were feeling at the time...
There is a place on the mountain near by
Deep in a cave but its up rather high
There in the darkness I safely concealed
All of the dreams that you never revealed
And if you go there, and after you do
All of these dreams would be yours to persue
The rest of your lifetime, devoid of a care
If you keep your eyes open, you may find yourself there
Such is the promise, such is the curse
You could just live your life better or worse
Knowing the cache of dreams up on that hill
Beckons and sways but won't bend to your will
You might find a river under a mountain that
feeds a remote, subteranian fountain
drink from this taste just a hint of a dream
that some how leads in to the underground stream
And if you go there, and after you do
All of these dreams would be yours to persue
The rest of your lifetime, devoid of a care
If you keep your eyes open, you may find yourself there
If you keep your heart open
Kind of touching for them to reach out and try and inspire lyrically, rather than musically.
YMMV.

You're probably right. My Soul is my 2 year old daughters favorite song, so maybe I'm biased. My Soul is more of a 1st set song though I guess.
i think Trey got such a woody about My Soul because it was such a different type of tune than they were used to playing... they never really rocked out any real bluesy songs ever. Yes, Llama and Possum have the blues progression, but they most certainly are not blues songs.
plus, when you're rolling, singing that chorus probably feels REALLLLY interesting on your lips......

I'm thinking no mini-anything for Phish 3.0. Does he even have it this tour?? ::starts checking photos::

I'm pretty sure we will not see Trey's keyboard or Drum Kit for the "pre-3rd Hiatus" shows.

Thats Trey? Interesting, I always thought it was Page that was doing that. Someone on phish.net in a show review called this the 'rubber band' sound.
That sound is nuts tho, I love it. I was just listening to 7/23/99 Set II and that noise is all over the Birds jam, iirc.
If all you can hear is guitar loops, and you hear the squeaky shoes, it's Trey.
