Live jazz avant-funk anyone? Short review on my blog here.

The Guitarist, Brad Faberman, is a Phish fan. Iíve encountered him a fair bit on the twitters. Jessica Lurie was in the great group, Living Daylights.

Brad emailed me a couple of days ago with a review request. This stuff makes me miss live shows even more ....

I also know they pro-shot 11/27-28/92 so that would be sick too.

Stash from 11/28/92 is a heater.

Guessing we will need a separate thread for Thanksgiving DAAM once they announce it.  I'm pulling for Worcester 97 or 98.  I also know they pro-shot 11/27-28/92 so that would be sick too.

I would love to get some pro-shot 92 from the Cap. Plus, I could see one of Trey's grandma's recipes going along with her dancing on stage on the 28th!

Yeah, that was awesome.

So, lets talk about the YEM jam.  Mike starts that theme...    are we in agreement that it's a deliberate jam on "I'm Eighteen" or do we think that it's simply pure inspiration based on what Mike was playing?  Would they have known this song?

I'd say it's just a 3 chord, minor key jam that happens to be the same chord progression as some of that tune. And probably a million other songs.

It's definitely an awesome, patient, textural jam.

That's what I was thinking, but Trey's picking pattern is the same as the recording for the 2nd and 3rd chords, which is what makes me wonder.  Maybe it's a subconscious thing, where he knew the song but didn't know that's what he was doing at the time.

It's def I'm 18 and very much likely worked on/jammed on  (jokingly or not) previously and played in honor of being in AC's hometown

Probably an AC poster or whatever backstage, thus... Bandroom banter > jamming > on stage tease.

Yeah, I think when they are pulling into a town they are actively thinking of things like that most of the time.  Mighty Quinn in Minny on 10/2/99 was an obvious nod to Dylan's MN roots, and there are a 1000 examples.  That's just the one that popped into my head.
