All in with the LP + CD/Bonus Disc

With the amount of time I've been listening to CDs in the car lately, I may have to do the same.
No JGB on CD.
Just got up off the couch to drop a deuce while the band belts out Fuckerpants.

All in with the LP + CD/Bonus Disc

Damn, I ordered the LP so quickly that I didn't notice the CD came with a bonus disc. Oh well, I'll just have to burn that cd for the car.

The 11-06-77 Truckin is my current standalone  version favorite.

That is all.

Workingman's Dead - The Angel's Share dropped today? Very little info... apparently it's legit from Rhino.

This is odd but cool.
I don't see how this is any sort of necessary release for any but the most hardcore fans and recording nerds.

Quote
"This spring, they had just finished work on a separate 50th-anniversary Workingman’s Dead reissue that will include a full live show from 1971. That bonus material was all finalized and firmed up when Lemieux heard from engineer Brian Kehew and archivist Mike Johnson that an unlabeled batch of tapes had been discovered in the Dead vaults in Los Angeles... Brian and Mike had a feeling it was something Workingman’s Dead–related.” Given that most of what Lemieux has overseen was live material, he “freaked out,” he says, when he realized what those tape boxes contained."

Yeah...it's pretty cool, I'm listening to it now, but it/s def just a novelty.  Cool for historic context but little replay value.  It's like the outtakes disc from the Pet Sounds box set which is basically like fifty 30 second snippets of the beach boys harmonizing, which is awesome but also tiresome to listen to after a while.

Well. I am a nerd and I enjoy that kind of thing.

Did you hear that, Trey? He's getting annoyed. Enough with the effects already.

I've listened to the Zappa Hot Rats studio recordings quite a few times. Other than that I don't usually give these sets more than a listen or two.
