I (obviously) watched a lot of 80s Blue Jays baseball and Tony was a gazelle out there.  It was pretty easy to meet the players in the 80s and 90s, and Tony was friendly the few times I met him - I have autographs somewhere...

His unfortunate error in the 96 World Series put the winning run on 3rd in a tied 9th inning of Game 7 which Florida eventually won, that play is burned into my brain for some reason.

I had a terribly good view of Tony Fernandez's go-ahead (11th-inning) homer that won the 1997 ALCS for Cleveland over Baltimore. I suppose it's time I forgave him for that.
