Remember when the Red Sox crushed the Cards in the World Series? They had more of this thing called game control in that series than the Yanks had against the Angels. Why didn't they win that World Series in Boston? Especially since Epstein is so savvy.

I just don't believe it, and I enjoy being contrarian.  8-)

It's not contrarian to ignore silly conspiracy theories.

Because they had never won one before, and there was a sweet lunar eclipse that night.

Also, the fact that Boston won that World Series was so good for business for MLB as a whole that they had absolutely no reason to get greedy about it...and it seemed like a better story with Boston winning 8 games in a row!

Is it contrarian to not ignore them?  Or since you haven't ignored mine, can I therefore assume my theory isn't silly nor is it a "conspiracy" theory.  It is a theory regarding tactics.  There is a definately a difference.

I would LOVE to see that.

I would still like to have seen the Twins vs. the Cards or LA vs. LA.

I would like to have seen Joe Torre beat his old club. Yankee fans would have loved the chance to beat Torre. Plus the whole bicoastal thing. NYY v LAD would have been a nice series.

I like the Phillies. I'll be happy to root for them. If I were a gambler, though, my money would be on NY in 6.

Nothing like a nice jinx to get the series started.

I have no idea why that last pitch was thrown inside.  :shakehead:

Gotta tip my cap to Lee. He pitched a gem last night.
