Been partying with these guys since early college days in Eugene. They put on pretty fun drunken shows. They are about to release a new album and go on their second legit tour. The guitarist rips. Not in this song so much, but it's a funny video....

Wildfire and Beam of Light are the better songs on here IMO: http://www.myspace.com/thequickandeasyboys

I use records for that and don't have to justify it to my friends.

I like that Take Your Medicine video! Nice!

Also, that Erykah Badu vid, I watched it yesterday, but didn't get it. Like what kind of political statement was she trying to make? I read an article where they posted some of her tweets about it, since she hasn't said much more, and it made no sense to me.

And now for something completely different. Couple blogs that I've read said good things about these guys @ SXSW. I dig it.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

"Your answer is silly. What'd do you want the song to do? End world hunger?
It's a fucking Phish song, some of them are very complex compositions, some are not.

This one with its complex vocal arrangement falls right in between.
But that and a hook aren't enough so I'll let Trey know his songs have to start giving out handys." RJ

At the Paradiso in Amsterdam, Feb 26, 1998. Front row for this one (no suprise there, I am usually in the front row for John Cale).

February 26, 1985. Prado del Rey (TVE Studio 1), Madrid.

Had been hitchchking through Morocco at the time and I was working my way back to Holland. Spend a few days in Madrid tyring to score a ticket for this show. Scored an extra a few hours before show time in a heady trade.

I learned much later that the great Ollie Halsall on bass was called in as a last minute replacement.

This opportune physical form
Is worth more than a wish-granting gem.
You only gain its like the once.
So hard to get, so easily destroyed,
It's like a lightning bolt in the sky.

Contemplate this, and you will realize
All worldly actions are but winnowed chaff,
And night and day you must
Extract some essence from your life.
I, the yogi, practiced this way;
You, wanting liberation, do the same!
