Soundcheck: Let Me Lie (3x), Burn That Bridge

I just got home from SPAC, and I'm sorry if this had already been addressed.
but the full soundcheck was actually:
Jam, Sleep Again (2x), Let Me Lie (3x), Burn That Bridge

in case anyone cares about this stuff...  now time to update the db, and then back here for more discussion :)
sing me back home before I die

I use records for that and don't have to justify it to my friends.

phish is a really good band

I've never seen them or heard any of their music, but that's what some people have been telling me.  Are they a cover band?

Mostly just to start Set II. Otherwise they hold their own.

Intriguing.  I'm tempted to see them at a live concert, but in general I don't like seeing music that I don't already know by heart.  I assume they play the songs just like the records, with the same guitar solos and stuff?

I assume you are a Marine Biologist?
You are an astute judge of a man's nature.  I assume, with a band name like "Phish," this band might cater to people who are professionally interested in the auditory communication habits of marine mammals?

Evolution is a dire subject. Darwin himself stated, and I quote, "The longer a phish may swimmeth, the more inclined is he to break his own boundaries, at the expense of those dependent on him."

In the short term, this is a tragic and disappointing truth.  However, without this natural progression, would we be able to marvel at the wonderous vocal soliloquies of such fine animals as dolphins and that other thing that looks like a big fish but has a nose on top of its head and starred in star trek 4?

I lol'd quite a bit at this whole discussion. Well done.

Anybody going to step up and do the setlist thread for tonight.  I would but I'm going out with the family for an ice cream in a few.

Damn, I missed this on the LST last night, and I'm not nearly to this show yet in terms of catching up... just now rocking Hartford Night 2. Can't wait to hear this song set.

I
Tweezer Reprise - Oh, those wacky guys.
Chalkdust - Okay, we're getting serious now.  Get the crowd fired up.
Funky Bitch - Gain some steam.  Devoid of any whale calling.  Just good ole fashion blues guitar.
Runaway Jim - Was moving along nicely but the jam fizzled out about a bit at the end.
Yamar - Cool little breakdown jam ~6:00.
Sample - Standard
Axilla - Sub-par
Fluffhead - Not the best version, but still good to hear.
Gin - Some flaws in the beginning, but the jam is actually a lot of fun and had me up and movin'.  Mike's inherent awesomeness doesn't hurt either.
Suzy - Pretty good version to close the set.

II
Rock & Roll - Getting pretty predictable.  The "Saratoga Jam" actually got pretty cool, though.
Free - Free
BDt#L - Good tune.  Solid version.
Halfway to the Moon - Cool tune.
Caspian - Next!
Joy - \m/  JOY \m/
Bowie - Would love to catch one of these on Friday.  Haven't caught a Bowie in almost 10 years.  This one is decent.  Not great, but serviceable.
Show of Life - I assume the lyrics were written by a 15 year old.  Maybe one of Trey's kids?
Squirming Coil - Solid version.  Well played.
Character Zero - Mike actually does some cool stuff in there.
Tweezer Reprise - Hilarious  Love Trey's scream at the end.

Highlights for me were the Gin and the R&R jam.

My bro picked me up a Pollock from this night as an early housewarming gift!
First print, too!

Love this Ya Mar.

R&R and the "Saratoga Jam"are very dope.  The playing just sounded ON.  I dig where this whole tune went.
