But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

Been on a  :syf: kick lately, specifically Fall '79.  Some really kick ass playing w/ Brent funking it up.

edit - kudos to the 17Oct.1978 version of If I Had The World To Give.  Probably my favorite GD song at the moment.

Same, I loved this song back when I was a teenager, I would play it repeatedly.
It's been awhile, I may check out that version.
Everything is connected, because it's all being created by this one consciousness. And we are tiny reflections of the mind that is creating the universe.

It took me a long time before hearing that song and it's so good. Must've only been played a handful of times?

just pulled out the 1st version from Red rocks for a listen. pretty scorchin' Jerry. thanks for the inspiration.  :syf:
i hadnt listened to that song in a long time and its real interesting noticing how it has alot of the framework that is obviously influenced by the Beatles like some of JErry's other originals ala HCS.
IT has a weird almagamation of that Beatles vibe mixed with some of the China Doll sounding elements and then the late 70s easy listening/ JerryReggae bounce, lol.
Though the JErry runs in the jam had real potential for a second set post drums staple. really woulda fit in the  Days between or morning dew slot.
sounds very much like a song he would end up moving to JGB if anything, but i cant say off the top of my head if that was the case.

Yeah, after the discussion in this thread I was thinking the other night how this would have been an all time bust-out if they had brought it back in the 90s (provided Jerry was in good voice.)  It would have been a mammoth drop in 89 or 90.  Bigger than the HCS drop imo, or at least on par.  It's so good.....

30 Days Of Dead #1 Uncle John's Band sounds 74-77? Just a guess 9/29/77?

Charlie Miller dropped an UltraMatrix of 12/27/86 that sounds super heady, some other Dec 86 and March 87s too... It's a good time to be an 80s head.

Are there 80s heads? My '89 episode is the least downloaded ep of Brokedown Podcast by a long margin...

I appreciate that and I'm not taking personally the drop-off. I assume folks just aren't as enthusiastic.
Hopefully they like the 60s.

From the Heart of Me is another new discovery.  Listening to the 11/14/1978 version as I type.  With Donna out front the Dead sound like a back-up band.  Great music, lots of changes, very colorful.  Similar to what Slim described:
