I share your anger in they way it's going with Shane.  I was very disappointed when Rick had his "moment" and decided to go back and save him, even though it was executed with a badass, 1990s, hanging-outta-the-window, gangsta-rap-style, drive-by. 

The season isn't over, so anything could happen still.  But I fear that everything will just "be alright" with Shane and the crew.


ETA:  My favorite part of the episode (zombie killings aside) is when Shane was looking out of the window, watching the lone walker out in the field all by itself.  It fit perfectly (especially at the end).  Definitely one of my favorite shots of the show.

I loved that closing shot.
The walker in the field smelled rank like prime foreshadowing.

Phil, I hear you but Kirkman has said that we need to let go of the plot expectations built on reading the books. Things simply will not be going down in the same way.


Other things I liked:
Rick talking about the coming Winter. It's crazy that it's not Winter yet. But that's good.

How Andrea called out Lori for her sexist, gender-role, bullshit.

And really, finally, some good action.

Finally caught up and watched the past two weeks' episodes last night.  This weeks might be my favorite episode yet.  Even Herschel is shooting zombies now.  Good shit.
