Honestly, I won't buy stereo stuff off of ebay anymore, having been burned at least twice...

I do all my stereo shopping on Craigs List now...  That way I can see it/play it/listen to it before I buy it...  Being in RDU, there is a ton of good stuff real close though.  Depending on where you live, you might have to do some driving...

Maybe you misunderstood - I use a very inexpensive Sony TTable and have a pretty nice Marantz receiver that has no phono in. I just need a relatively cheap pre-amp.

i just bought this behringer: http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-PP400-Ultra-Compact-Phono-Preamp/dp/B000H2BC4E

it just arrived and i have to hook it up still.  but for $20.00 i figured what the hell.
i will report back on how it sounds.

i looked at those on needle doctor, but saving $60.00 seemed like the right move.
they used to have a $30-40 audio technica but it is gone now.

I've got a 2-channel Onkyo that was perfect for a long time, but now the TTable and the TV are going to be in the same room, so I have to add the TTable to the Marantz and use the surround system to listen to vinyl. I can't have another amp and another set of speakers in the same room just for vinyl. The wife won't allow it (I asked).
