Wireless mouse problem help?

I just bought a new HP wireless mouse and am having problems when I try and drag and drop items.
Instead of holding down the left mouse button and dragging items, the mouse always seems to double-click by itself.
I changed my settings in the control panel which didn't help my problem.
Anyone here have this happen before?

you may want to see if there are specific drivers for that particular mouse that you can DL from HP.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
