i like billy strings, but i really enjoy when he ditches the whole psychedelic bluegrass thing and focuses on traditional.  also, he had panic's drummer sit in on 3/7.  i've always wanted to hear them with a drummer. gonna have to search out some shows from this past week.  these setlists are pretty bonkers...

if anyone here ever happens to notice he has a tour date near me please DM me.
Would love to catch him.

He's playing the big new Arena in Austin for two nights this spring - which is nuts. It feels like Phish in the early 90's. I saw him play a BBQ restaurant with about 50 people. I've seen him with about 500 people at an outdoor "pod" show during covid. I've seen him play the smallest stage at ACL Fest and then the third largest stage at ACL Fest. I've seen him play a Stubb's - around 2500 people. Now a full-on arena. It's fucking incredible.

Yeah, I don't know that I'm ready to see a bluegrass band in an arena.

1st time I saw him was in a club in Cambridge, MA. Those days are long gone. Gonna catch him this summer in Boston, medium size venue.
btw, the last 3 songs he did that show in Cambridge were on electric, with a drummer. It Hurts Me Too, Funk 49>Paranoid.

"It's a 106 miles to Chicago. We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

Okay, so today on "sit-ins that you never thought would happen" we have Billy Strings sitting in with TOOL!?!?! He came out and played Jambi with them!

If this is love, I'm never going home..

I'm sure most of you have seen some of the clips from Billy's Halloween show but he seems to just keep upping the ante. Very reminiscent of another band we all hold dear...

Everything is connected, because it's all being created by this one consciousness. And we are tiny reflections of the mind that is creating the universe.

I'm deeply, madly, in love with Sierra Hull. That is all.
