Quote from: Eleanor MarsailI love you, daddy. Actually, I love all the people. Even the ones who I don't know their name.

RIP, Simply the Best!!

Also, I feel like she doesn't get credit for pioneering the artistry of synth pan flute on tracks like What's Love Got to Do With It and We Don't Need Another Hero.

And it's pretty fucking rad that every song I just mentioned is a complete sentence.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

Proud Mary keep on burnin'

RIP, Tina.

I'll second what Ikki said, a pioneer in her own way.
"I used to be 'with it', but then they changed what 'it' was and now what I'm with isn't 'it' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me"

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

If you haven't watched the HBO doc on her, you really should. Just sayin'
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

Everything is connected, because it's all being created by this one consciousness. And we are tiny reflections of the mind that is creating the universe.

A fucking hero. On top of being a massive talent and amazing entertainer, Tina Turner broke free from abuse and rose up to meet her much deserved greatness.

Let her memory be an inspiration to all.

I saw her as a teenager on a school trip to Paris.  Must have been 85.  It was an unreal show, only time I have been to Le Zenith. It was the Private Dancer tour and it was super random that we ended up going.  Also one of the first times I ever drank/got drunk.

"toss away stuff you don't need in the end
but keep what's important, and know who's your friend"
"It's a 106 miles to Chicago. We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
