He did so much for the music community, Deadheads especially. I agree with Dave, a fucking legend!

Pretty likely that none of us would be talking today without Sam. The Grateful Dead would not likely have survived as a business long enough to become the cultural entity that inspired so many other communities, including that of Phish and this one here.

Highly recommend reading his autobiography if you have not already done so.
