so much for paying for phish colorado webcast
http://www.iclips.net/blog/29/08/2011/moedown-xii-announcement

I think this is the boat I'll be on this weekend. I'd rather watch a moe. show for free in the same timezone as me than to pay and stay up late to watch a 3.0 Phish show in Mountain Time. Anyone else really good on the bill for moe.down?
Rubblebucket, New Mastersounds, and the Brew are all personnel favs.  Not sure if all of them will be on the webcast though. I will be watching the  :phish: all weekend and bouncing to moe down here and there as well.

here's the schedule.
http://moe.org/festivals/moedown/schedule
levon helm with bob weir should be interesting.
still bummed I can't go.

I don't know how the broadcast will go but the stages are basically right next to one another so the music on one stage pretty much starts immediately as the other stage ends.
friday night looks like it could be a good night.

I'd like to catch the bruce hornsby set too.

I'll second that rubblebucket rec. One of my favorite newer bands.

Tempting to catch the Dallas show.. 3 hour drive to the show and don't really want to wake up in Dallas Saturday morning, possibly stay in my hometown which is a halfway point.

I gotta say, I'd drive 3 hrs to see moe. in a second but I've never seen them before.

you can fork over $20 for a ticket, and another 30 for expenses if you wanted to bad enough

anyway, here's one of the few moe. shows I have seen, but definitely my favorite.

That video was pretty cool to watch. Sounded just like a regular Crab Eyes until the end when al's 'guitar' just didn't sound right.

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

Yesterday, I started this thing I thought of last week, where I listen to a couple of different bands shows from the same date. For example, listening to Furthur - 2010-12-31 followed by Phish - 2010-12-31.

Yesterday, I finally got around to doing it, and I chose moe. and The Disco Biscuits from 1999-12-04. I enjoyed this show. Not the best I've heard, but still very enjoyable. The recording sounds good, too. I should listen to moe. more than I do. They really are a great band, and I've had a blast every time I've seen them. Not sure why I don't listen to them more.

Anyway, here's a link to the source I listened to:

tDB show was pretty enjoyable as well, but I won't bore you with that. I'll save it for another thread.

it's a pretty common response.  I know there will never be love for moe. on this board.  hell, moe. even has the same jaded vet views that phish has on the moe. board.

for me, I judge it by this will be the 2nd new years in a row where I am happy to be seeing moe. instead of phish.  they are basically the only band that blows me away regularly anymore.

I'm going to start re-listening to November/December 2001 today.
what I also like is that I can jump around and listen to different years.  2004-2008 got a bit stale (although there is plenty of good stuff in those years too).

Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with moe. songs, their jamming style and what not, and I have a few "go-to" shows, but I don't know a whole lot from year to year (which years are considered the best, the weakest, etc.)

So, you said '04-'08 were somewhat weak in comparison to others? What years are considered the best?

Also, what are some "legendary" shows/jams? (ie providence bowie, bozeman tweezer, 12-31-95, etc...)
