So first of all I didn't know there was an Al-Jezzera English news broadcast...

I guess people on the board probably know or have met people like those in this piece, amazing to see what people will say on camera about Obama.

no hating going on...just ribbing....

secondly, the people in that al-jezerra piecce is just disturbing...but what's sad is i know people like that. my buddies girlfriend just said shit like that to me the other day, and my jaw just dropped. so i took the high road though and asked why she felt all that anger and negativity towards him, and she didn't have anything valid to say. after which i asked her about issues, what were important to her, and talked about those, and Obama's viewpoints on them, and she was just surprised, but still, i know it didn't make a damn bit of difference.

mattstick - FYI, they started up their English-language channel a few years ago.  nobody - not one US cable network - will pick it up.  which is sad, when you think about it...  i am a left-leaning Zionist and i'm interested in watching it, so what the hell are other people afraid of?  Fox News makes me nauseous, so i don't watch it.  anyone THAT offended by Al Jazeera can also not watch it!

I google'd to see if it was available here and couldn't (quickly) find anything newer than 2006.

Al-Jazeera English hasn't applied to broadcast in Canada, however, the network will be streamed live on its Internet site english.aljazeera.net.

Many Arabic-speaking Canadians currently watch Arabic Al-Jazeera by satellite but it appears that no major Canadian cable companies are expected to pick up the network any time soon.

No cable television companies in Canada have applied to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission to carry the English-language network.

In 2004, the CRTC ruled that the Arabic network can be broadcast in Canada, but imposed such strict rules that cable companies were reluctant to carry the channel.

For Canadian companies to pick up the network, they would be force to start the application process all over again.

The more news channels the better, IMO.
