No idea but I'm watching for an e-mail from my provider and planning on staying up late.

correct me if I'm wrong but 5C doesn't sound like a significant upgrade from 4S - the major change would be to 5S

The 5C is the iphone 5 replacement.  Slight upgrades to performance and camera, etc. over the 5 and a lower price point.  But overall, basically the same(aside from the obvious difference in the way it looks)

We're off to the apple store today.  The wife's 4S can't hold a charge for more thna an hour or 2 and it's only a little over a year old.  It's over heating and seems to be using the location tracking constantly.   :|  She may be getting a new phone before me depending on how tonight goes.

Didn't see this uproar when a whole generation of Windows-based laptops had fingerprint scanners for the past 5+ years.

Anyone know time the release is slated for? Should I stay up late to kick off my download or is this a Cupertino time thing (i.e., tomorrow afternoon for people who live in a normal timezone)?

ETA:

Didn't see this uproar when a whole generation of Windows-based laptops had fingerprint scanners for the past 5+ years.

I think the recent NSA revelations probably have something to do with that.
