can anyone suggest something free or otherwise for some basic mixing/editing?

i'm trying to make some mixes, and all i really need is something to edit tracks of tunings and such. maybe some fade/ cross fade tools would be useful as well...

if anyone knows of anything out there i could get a hold of easily i'd appreciate the help.

thanks,
slim.

I agree about audacity....I have just started playing around recording tracks directly into my PC, and it is very easy to edit and sync up multiple tracks

I use http://www.reaper.fm/ for recording...
overkill for what slim needs but if you aren't a mac person and want to do recording...

audacity is free and pretty easy to use...

can you edit flac or shn formats with audacity?

good question...i've only formatted wav files.

iirc TLH will convert flac/shn's to wavs

i DLed audacity.
now i just have to figure out how the fuck to use it!  :lol:
slim=clueless.
well, we'll see if i can figure it out on my own.

i did attempt to drag a shn file into it... all i noticed was that it said it imported a mp3 file. maybe it automatically converted it, i dunno.

when i get a bunch of time i'll try and tool around with this thing and hopefully get some results.
