Umm, well, my brother lives about 45 minutes away from the venue. So our plan, at the moment, is to head out that way and crash at his place Thursday night, and then wake up really early and head on to beat some of the traffic on Friday. I think it could work out quite well.
right on...
well, looks like good times, so far :)
Oh yeah, there are a few bands that I've never seen before. Mainly Tea leaf green and Lotus. But I can't wait to see Yonder, keller, Ratdog, and Moe. Lets see, my last festival like this was........Coventry. It's been far too long.

It is an adult playground. Just be careful getting there, and you will all be fine.
Look for high ground for camping, the closer you are to the Cheat River, the better. Side note, my Dad had quite the white water rafting trip on that river. 6ft above flood level, nuff said. He cursed God/Mother Nature...almost died... :-o

I don't know which was worse, Cypress, Oswego, or Coventry. All took longer than 24 hours for us. If I had to say right now, I'd stick with Oswego because of the heat factor.
So crazy, people's different experiences w/ traffic....I didn't hit traffic coming or going to any of those shows....not one second.......then again, I had a laminate and directions from dionysian productions... :-D  My wife waited in traffic for Oswego (4 HOURS!), and when she opened her packet for the tickets, realized she had VIP too and waited in traffic for no reason :frustrated: her brother took a TAXI to Big Cypress, and after 12 hours the guy just kicked them out and turned around....
i think my thread got gang banged....
my kind of thread :-o ! Just kidding, mostly....

So, this sounds like a really good festival......

HEY!!!!! Some of us are still going! :-P :-D But actually, they are calling for rain on Friday. I hope it rains a little to cool things off a bit. If it poured, it would be fitting though. Last time I went, in '01 in fredericksburg on the Beale Family farm, it POURED!!!!! And I was fully unprepared. I had an old tent that was about as water resistant as a sponge. But, I was younger, and din't really give a shit. Besides, it was the first time I saw Keller and KDTU. What a great weekend that was! Now I have a newer tent and am ready to have a great time.

hey everyone. I have returned (relatively) unscathed and we had a great weekend! What a beautiful spot. I have 700+ pictures to wade through(yes, I went a little nuts with the camera, but what do you expect when you work your way up to the front rail!!!! :-D Will post more later.
I look forward to the pics. glad you had fun.
antelope, good to see you made it back. Hope you had a blast, I went to All Good last year. Waiting with baited breath, for your review. :-P
Some people I know at work went, I'll see what their highlights were. They are young (early 20's), so I encouraged them to see as much music as possible, not just go for the party. I gave 'em a quick mental list of bands to see while there.
I heard Franti said, "I've been traveling all Summer in the US, and this is the most beautiful venue of them all."
East Cost, cough, cough... :-D

that's it.
next year, hell or high water... i'm gonna make it to some summer shows.
One MAJOR conclusion I did come to over the weekend is, I can't hang like I used to. I was dragging during the late night sets. Maybe that's because I don't partake in any of those things that keep you up at night anymore? Or maybe I am just getting old? :|
I'd say it was the lack of hard drugs in your system.

DAMN! you werent kiddin'!
nice work bro.
so anyway,
Thanks to all who bothered to look at my pics. I haven't edited any of them yet. And these were the ones that just sorta popped out as I casualy sifted through. As for a review, well, you could really tell that they had done this before. It was really well organized and put together. Johnny law was no where to be found. People were openly taking bong hits, passing the hooka around etc. And the scenery was to die for. The music was a whole different ball game. My highlights were as expected. The bands that I wasn't expecting much from really surprised as well. Those included New Monsoon and Tea Leaf Green. But one thing that was consitent among all of the bands is that you could really tell they were enjoying themselves! Every single last one of them mentioned how beautiful it was. And thanked everyone repeatedly for coming out. I want to say that I had been turned off of Moe for quite a while now. I saw them back in 03 in Richmond and was really turned off. Other than their cover of karma police that evening, it was a pretty uninspired performance. So I had given them a rest, for the most part, until this past saturday. I was floored! They really brought their "A game" Maybe it was just a combo of seeing kuroda do the lights again(oh, and by the way, he hasn't lost a step :-D ), the nice weather, etc. But I swear they were playing their asses off. Ratdog, well, we'll just say I am REALLY glad I waited to see them at All Good instead of paying the 50 bucks to see them earlier this year. Even with Kimock, they didn't do much for me. All in all, as leech put it, "it's an adult playground" and I WILL (god willing) be back next year.
