I would love to go snorkeling through the caves.
24 hour bowling alley sounds amazing. I will be there every night.

That and the Palace Bar are the two spots that go 24/7....and the walk to the Palace is brutal if you're not staying there and need to go back.  Palace is great, but far from venue.  Worth checking out at least once though.  And you won;t get sweated for not having a palace bracelet.  It was never a thing.

Any past attendees have recs for excersions?

I myself am more of a 'lay on the beach, relax, sip margaritas all day' type of guy.... but something tells me Michelle is going to disown me if I don't take advantage of these day trips...

Those Mayan pyramids sure have a lot of steps... zip lining sound fun though, doesn't it?

24 hour bowling alley on site with 24 hour free drinks.  That's my rec.  We went to Tulum for real for for a day.  Would have gone cave diving/snorkeling in one of the cenotes but they were polluted when we were there last year.  Wish I had gone to the Tulum turns because they are close (30 minutes).  I really wanted to go to Chicen Itza which is the sick giant pyramid, and we had a rental car but it was just too far and too crowded unless you get there before 9AM so we bagged it.  Believe me, you will be in the bowling alley until 7AM and won't wake up until 1 or 2 so start tempering her expectations right now  :-).  It's so fun, you guys will have a great time no matter what you do...

I pretty much copied that post and sent to a friend. That sounds like heaven if I had any say in the matter.
Everything is connected, because it's all being created by this one consciousness. And we are tiny reflections of the mind that is creating the universe.

Should have read "went to Tulum for real food one day" and "gone to Tulum ruins".....

Alright dudes got the email from my buddy so I can add some off site activities. Whats everyone looking at?

Damn these are pricey. I thought this shit was included. I'd love to do the secret river snorkeling (120$) or would be down with the cheaper reef snorkeling (85$) anyone interested?

My buddy signed us up for the day trip to tulum (morning of the 14th - 30$) for some food and ruins, I'm leaving on Tuesday so I could do this trip solo but probably just gonna stay in the phish group trip, def wouldn't mind going twice.

Scott hit me up with your room or whatever number so we can get neighboring rooms. Anyone else that wants to be near us hit me up with your number too we'll try and get a paug hall or something

Nedstruzz

We just signed up for the Catamaran/Snorkeling/Lunch/Open bar on Friday 1/13.

Is that an option? That'd be nice. I assume you're at Barcelo?
Is this still Wombat?

Past Barcelo guests: What's the round-the-clock liquor situation? Are the rooms only stocked with beer? Bowling alley is the solution?

Bowling alley and the piano bar at the Palace are the only two 24 hour liquor spots.  I don't even remember there being beer in the room, but they might have some in the fridge.  Def no booze.  But trust me, you will never want for liquor or beer on this trip.  It's over the top.  Everywhere you turn, there is someone within arms reach with tequila or beer on a tray.  It's insane.  The disco has full bar but it closes at 2.  The piano bar at Palace is the best late night spot with the bar serving until it's sunny and it's a nice bar.  The bowling alley is a bowling alley.  But it works too.  The Palace is a LONG walk from reg Barcelo (maybe 1.5 miles) so it's a tough one when the night is over, but not so bad getting there.  And while people say you will need bracelets to go to Palace and all that, you really don't.  Only right after the show do they care about bracelets:  when the show is over, they really try to get everyone who is staying offsite out of there ASAP so they herd you either right into bus line or they herd you into Bracelet check to allow you back on to Barcelo property.  This is at the exit to the show pretty much, so if you are off site and trying to hang post show, it's not really an option.

Thanks for the intel.

I'm mostly a beer drinker, but a friend who's coming this time was asking questions about liquor. I'd forgotten about the piano bar scouting report.

I stayed at the Hard Rock this year but my buddy and I managed to breach the bus line defenses on the last night and spent a while inside the Barcelo. Hit the up bowling alley, casino and that general mall area. Such a great scene, which is why we knew we needed to stay on site the next time around.
